Turbo Power & Marine Systems
The FT8 industrial gas turbine -- simply the most fuel efficient gas turbine in its power class. Over thirty years of Turbo Power technology and know-how are incorporated in his 25 megawatt class leader.
The FT8 resume' of applications includes includes peaking duty, cogeneration, combined cycle, repowering, and compressor drive. Throughout the world, the FT8 is being applied to marine sea duty due to its compactness and high efficiency.
Since 1960, more than 1,200 Turbo Power industrial gas turbines have been placed in commercial operation, with some 300 units supplies on a full turnkey installation basis. The wealth of experience gained from this 24 million kW fleet with over 10 million hours of operation is reflected in the FT8's superior performance, reliability, operational availability, and simplified maintenance.

Turbo Power is a wholly owned subsidiary of the UTC. UTC is one of the Twenty largest US-based companies and provides high-technology products and support services through its global operations in more than 70 countries. Teamed with UTC family member and NEEG, Turbo Power designs, builds, furnishes and supports aeroderivative gas turbine power systems to customers worldwide.
FT8 Industrial Gas Turbine
The FT8 is composed of two main sections: the gas generator and an aerodynamically coupled power turbine which provides power to the output shaft and driven load. They both employ anti-friction bearings and share a common lube oil system, minimizing plant oil system size.
The power turbine is a rugged, high-efficiency, industrial design. Curvic couplings provide precise alignment of turbine rotor discs and rotor stability during thermal transients. Three power turbine designs for 3,000 and 3,600 rpm and a three-stage, high-speed 5,500 rpm design for centrifugal compressor drive.
